    Brian, Viton is impervious to most things.

    Considering the problem from the other side of the equation, silicone fluid is very inert.  Not sure if it works for your sextant but it is what is called for in the Kollsman bubble chamber.  Use 0.65 centistroke density.  Midwest Lubricants (USA) sells it.
