Just so there's no confusion here, the method, instructions, and tables for Moon bubble sextant sights given in the modern Nautical Almanac are completely correct and provide highly accurate corrections. Trouble is, the methodology is a bit "opaque", difficult to decipher, and, in addition, bubble sextant users get no benefit from the high accuracy. The methodology originally provided in the Air Almanac is just fine for the moderate accuracy achievable with bubble sextants, plus it's easier to puzzle out, easier to see what it all means. And that's a positive things, especially for beginners.
