David C,
I have to stretch my promise by a day. I tried! I sat down and wrote a couple of paragraphs, but I couldn't find that inspiration to write something new and interesting. I'll get into it again tomorrow during the break before Office Hours. Oh speaking of Office Hours! If you feel like stopping in, the "Pacific" meeting (open to all) start at 6:00pm Eastern US time (2300 UT) which is about 20 hours from now as I write this. And don't forget the "link with the links" is here: ReedNavigation.com/talk/.

PS: You wrote: "Six months ago I switched from 10mbps ADSL to 100m fibre and the difference was hardly noticeable." Right. You don't need it --yet. For homes where there is just one person online at a time, there's really not much difference for common internet tasks. But I'm guessing you don't have a video monitor bigger than your bed with 4k resolution yet, right? You do realize your "TV" should be bigger than your bed in the 21st century, right? ;) Folks who go for the highest quality video benefit from fiber bandwidth as do families with three or four people watching HD video or engaged in HD chats or games at the same time.
