Interest in Bygrave construction has been rekindled lately with the completion of a couple of fine examples. As there have been questions about scales, I am making available the postscript code used to produce them.
The code is configured to Wolfgang's specifications but can be changed by editing the parameters in the "User Input Parameters" section. I have made the code fairly verbose in an attempt to make it understandable but bear in mind that Postscript is a low-level non-user friendly, reverse polish language.
The code is quite general and can be used to produce both cylindrical and flat (Lapook) Bygraves just by changing the parameters in the "User Input Parameters" section. Fairly detailed instructions appear at the start of the the file. As it is fully self-contained raw Postscript it can be processed directly by a PS printer or converted to a pdf. In the former case all the scale calculations would be done by the printer with nothing being done on the computer side. If you want to experiment with it I suggest installing GSview which permits viewing and printing without converting to a pdf.
As always this should be thought of as a work in progress that gets tweaked and enhanced from time to time,
Robin Stuart
