My 1941 ‘Hughes Mates’ Three Circle’ also has the micrometer Vernier scale marked in six divisions of ten seconds. The Hughes inspector in 1941 also claimed a perfect arc, which is probably somewhat lost on me when my accuracy requirement has been described as somewhere between the thickness of a 2B pencil and a sharpened bar of chocolate.
