All,
I ask this question as a relative newcomer to this dynamic group of celestial navigation enthusiasts.
Has our virtual group ever organized a real-world, face-to-face gathering? Would there be any interest in doing so?
Just as amateur radio operators hold "ham fests" and other similar groups do likewise, should we consider organizing an event focusing on CN?
Criteria might include:
--- picking a site of some natural beauty and maritime history, with a natural horizon;
--- informal presentations by our most learned members;
--- some hands-on CN;
--- ample time for socializing over food and drink.
Our membership spans the globe, but perhaps, with sufficient advance notice, we could assemble a quorum of CN enthusiasts at the same time and geographic position.
