There is a Cassens & Plath artificial horizon on eBay for a buy-it-now price of $299. In my opinion, this is the best AH around -- better than any of the plaths made in the last 30 years. And the price is as reasonable as I have seen, so anyone who wants an AH should seriously consider this one. The only downside is that is is coming from Bhavnagar which means it was recovered from a ship scrapped in the yards in Alang. I've been to Alang I did an essay for Wired on the shipbreakers) and it is a wild place, so I'd be a bit wary of the condition.
