    Dear Tony,

You wrote: “I like the idea of an ecliptic line (with dates), I always wanted to add it on my CP-300/U.”

In a printable DIY starfinder (see my previous post) it would be easy to add a set of date lines around the ecliptic, as well as some other features (any of the 173 stars, constellation lines, etc).

    Dear Dave,

You wrote: It has 9 disks and no month markings.  The disks, which are full circles fit very (almost too) tightly UNDER to cursor arm. They are held quite tightly to the base. (I am surprised yours move around.)

((What are the concealed markings, and why are they covered on yours?))

In mine the attachment of the templates to the index is made by different means: by a slotted protrusion on the outside faces of the arm.

Unfortunately I do not know anything about the markings. I tried to scratch the white strips that cover the lettering but to no avail.

I’m attaching some photos of the user’s manual in case anyone is interested. It seems the manual is shared with another starfinder, the CPU-50A/P and there is some reference to a KS-120 astrotracker of the GAM-77 missile.

    Cheers.
