    Dear Gary and Frank,

What I'm actually proposing is a DIY device, free for everyone to share and download. Only a printer, a sharp knife and some basic skills would be required to make one. No publishers, intellectual property issues, marketing or distributors, or modifying an existing starfinder for that matter.

As I've already mentioned, the base and the "red" template (to use the 2102-D jargon) are relatively easy to design by myself and many ideas could be incorporated, like the ones you have suggested (dated ecliptic, twilight lines etc).

But I'm affraid my skills permit me to go as far as that. The next step, the "blue" templates, would require a polar mathematical function, which eludes me, as well as some Postscript or other code to produce a vector image of the grids, like the one Robin Stuart has shared with this forum to produce the Bygrave scales (I hope Robin is reading this…).

Anyhow, I think I’m pushing this too far. If there is enough interest, we could take it a step further.

    Cheers
