It looks to me like this model is very similar to
my Plath. Adjusting key is simply a 1.5mm Allan key. These things are easy to
procure. I have about a half a dozen in my sextant repair tool kit.
I agree that not having a proper case is
problematic but the sextant itself -- which appears to be 80's vintage --
looks to be in excellent shape. Having said that, C.Plath started to cut corners
around this time so their last production models were, in my humble opinion, not
as good as the older models from the 60s and 70s.
If I had a lot of disposable income, I might take a
crack at it but I only need one C.Plath.

The Navistar Classic C.Plath now listed on Ebay may go for less than the
buy it now price because there is no box for the instrument. The winner of the
bid will have to forward an after market Pelican box to the seller before
shipping. I take it that there is no index or side error adjustment tool.
Finding the right tool might be a problem.
