Re: Calculate new coordinates given bearing and distance?

    Dear Lars,

Thank you very much for the clarification.

I want to keep to as little tables as theoretically possible. At the same time - I want to be able to solve all the usual CN tasks, hence my apparent obsession with Haversines, looks like it is possible to do the job with paper and pencil and a set of simple formulas. The all-Haversine Doniol may be used also to obtain the initial GC course and to know the total distance, then splitting the track into segments of manageable lengths - the way-points' coordinates are available through your formulas. Then the process repeats, - from a way-point the new initial course is calculated and so on.

    Warm regards,
    Tony
