A new 24 MP Canon Rebel EOS 2000D DSLR camera has been procured to replace a 12 year old 10 MP Canon Rebel. It is fantastic and will improve every aspect of camera CN. The difficult task of calibrating the various lens has begun. The first lens to calibrate is the 200mm which calibrated to .0635 ' moa per pixel. The sun's diameter was used as the standard. The first test was a vertical angle snap of the local Barbar bridge that has a clearence of 66 ft from high mean water. The expected clearance allowing for tide is 67 ft. Height of eye was 8 ft. and the distance by Zoom Earth from the cameras location to the bridge is 1.84 NM. 327 pixels were counted from the water to the underside of the bridge which works out to 20.8' moa. Distance to bridge by vertical angle using the online calculator shows 1.82 NM. Very happy with result. Now onto a lunar image to confirm.
