Re: Can I Navigate Without an Assumed Position?
    From: Antoine Couëtte

    Hello Ron,

Diigging further into my results significantly different from Yves Robin Jouan and Peter Hakel, I am just discovering that I computed them for 19 May 2013 instead of 19 May 2003. Oops ! So I will do thesecomputations again. No time right now since I need go flying.

However, this is not the sole explanation for our results difference.

My blunder prompted me into looking more closely at your published data, and it looks like your DENEB GHA for the 3 BODY Problem is not correct, and in any case it is not consistent with the GHA published for the 2 BODY Problem.

In other words, you cannot have for DENEB on the same date a same GHA value for 2 different UT's separated by over 10 minutes of time, e.g. :

                   in the 3 BODY Problem : DENEB Limb GMT 4:18:14 GHA1 353 deg. 9 min . For this GMT on 19 may 2003 , I am computing GHA = 350°36'1  DEC= N 45°17.156' . And :

                   in the 2 BODY problem : DENEB Limb GMT 4:28:24 GHA1 353 deg. 9 min . For this GMT on 19 May 2003 , I am computing GHA = 353°09'0   DEC = N 45°17.156'

Irrespective of whether I did a blunder or not on the computation date, since I am directly computing my results from your published "GMT + Body Name" information and not from your published "Body GHA and DEC" data,  I cannot adequately solve these two cases TOGETHER, or at least I cannot adequately solve your 3 BODY Problem.

    Please advise,

    Kermit
