Hello Ron,
A quick answer to your case, using ASTROLAB :
DENEB + POLLUX + SPICA => 48° 8.4' N & 123° 26' W, with a DOP of 2.01 and a resulting statistical error radius of 0.06 NM (95%)
Same + ARCTURUS (4 Stars) => 48° 8.4' N & 123° 26' W, with a DOP of 1.28 (very good) and a resulting statistical error radius of 0.06 NM (95%)
DENEB + ARCTURUS (2 Stars) => 48° 8.4' N & 123° 26' W (from 2 stars only, DOP and error radius cannot be computed)
So the results in L & G are quite the same, in any case.
May be you could change DENEB with another star in the 2-star case ? This should also be provide a 5-star problem...
