Hi,
Many years ago I read "The Swiss Family Robinson." In the beginning the adventure begins in a ship with a severe storm which raged for many days and moved the vessel so far off course there was no sailor on board who knew where they were. After reading this story to my children I began to ponder there circumstance. With the CelNav interest being rekindled I began to ponder this and wondered if it were possible to locate onself without an "Assumed Position? I actually tried to work this out, but all I could fathom was the latitude I was on. Ai least that is what I thought.
Is it possible to determine one's lat/lon armed only with a sextant?
