I gave Canopus Achernar Fomalhaut another go since we had a small difference. The current use of this GC calculator is probably not what the author had in mind ;-) See attached notes and plot.

From 2000.0 elements uncorrected to date (and unaffected by refraction), I am getting 185,4' and 61'8.
Paul Bedel is getting 185,6' and 61,8' probably from current Almanac data.
We are all watching these stars from the very same solar/star system then!
