I have often wondered as to why these wonderful electronic calculators aka electronic slide rules weren't made with BOTH battery and solar powered capabilities. I should think, possibly wrongly, that the dual capability could be built in at no great expense and or mechanical/electric complication, along with a "switch" to go from one to the other. Of course, I could be all wet on that.
