I doubt it Gary. The one I got went for $600 and the seller
acknowledged that a lug was broken off one of the shades; not a good
sign. You can get beat-up C&Ps for less, but the nice ones are in the
$800 range. Good luck!
Believe me, I didn't mean that I could get it for that price on Ebay. I had a chance to buy one about one year ago for $350.00. This was before I was seriously in the market for one. An elderly widow wanted, "to sell everything that belonged to my husband." I told her that she might want to get it appraised before putting a price on it, but she insisted that she would be happy with $350.00. This sextant looked like it was just shipped from the manufacturer. Her insistence that $350.00 was enough made me nervous. I wondered what she knew that I didn't. Looking back, I suspect that she just seriously wanted to get rid of it. I kick myself every once in a while just to remind myself how stupid I am.
