If that is a Pelican Case I'd suggest contacting them. "Goop" aka "Amazing
Goop" are a line of urethane cements sold for many years in hardware stores,
often one of their will bond when nothing else will. If Pelican can tell you
what the material is, the Goop folks (Eclectic Products Inc.) can tell you if
they'll bind to it.
If you shape the peg more like a golf tee (mushrooming out at the attached end)
you'll have more glued area and a stronger bond.
