Gerad, From my experience, if your going to do serious navigation relying on twilight sights, the 7/8 scale sextants are very lacking. Their optics are not very good, and there small size mirrors are not anywhere as effective when taking star sights or high altitude sun sights. $600.00 for a new small scale Freiberger might be better spent elsewhere. The Astra sextant is a much better choice if you are looking for something smaller. Also, the Russian sextants offer attractive features, but familiarize yourself to what was said on this forum in answer to Mike Burkes question earlier.
