From the HR side, Nyle K7NS must surely be a contender! I've repeated his experiment across a room, but not across a valley.

From the CN side, I'm thinking of a "back-staff" using the spin pole and topping lift. I calculated 1/32" at the mast track = 1 MOA on the horizontal. Maybe a jug of water on the main halyard for plumb check (got to account for mast rake?). Two-speed winch as "fine micrometer" drum.
I've already been down the CD sextant route: Something to use all those extra eclipse glasses for!
