OK, but you can easily watch the whole movie online and jump to those scenes if you wish. Once again, here is the link to the whole movie: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x40cg35. To see the first sextant scene, go to time stamp 24:30. The second sextant scene is at 34:00. And the conversation where Joe January (Wayne) is appalled by "dead reckoning!" is at 52:30.
For those of you unfamiliar with the art of playing online videos (yes, there really are some NavList readers who don't know how to do this), let the video start, watch an ad if necessary, then float your mouse along the progress timeline near the bottom of the video player. Slide along until it reads 24:30 or a bit earlier. Then click. The video will pick up at that point. Same for the other time stamps.
For anyone who would like the "script" (really subtitles for the video), go to https://subscene.com/subtitles/legend-of-the-lost and select the appropriate language. You'll then download a zip file. When you open it, you will find an "srt" file which is just a plain text file that you can open with "Notepad" e.g. containing the subtitles and the corresponding time stamps. You can then search the text for various keywords like "sextant" (no hits in this movie) and "degrees" and "north" (which both have hits in this text).
