I wrote a few days ago:
"I've been invited to conduct a three-day workshop for a group in London, June 10, 11, 12, on 19th-century navigation methods and lunars. This workshop is not open to the public."
I wanted to be sure I got the name of the institution correct before posting. Turns out they're a little troubled by the uncertainty in naming, too, as administrative structures come and go, but they prefer "Royal Observatory, Royal Museums Greenwich". The workshop is for the curatorial team up there on the hill in Greenwich. If the weather cooperates, I think I'll have them all shoot lunars standing right on the Prime Meridian. Easy error-checking.
It's critical to me that this trip should pay, even after my fee and travel expenses covered by Royal Museums Greenwich. Thank you all for the ideas you have sent so far. I am absolutely still interested in options. Please contact me if you have any suggestions for host institutions for two-day classes the weekend before or after my workshop in Greenwich. Thanks.
