Nice talk! I made copies of the navwheel and the sunwheel; both designs work well. Almost inevitabilty, when looking for errors in my sight reductions, the culprit is some type of sexagesimal arithmetic error. I had thought about designing something similar, but you've saved all the trouble.
The haversine rule design is slick! Thanks for sharing the source code.
