Just wondering if anyone had to use cel-nav for their work or emergency in OUR lifetime

The Long Range Desert Group used celestial navigation to keep themselves found in the Libyan desert during WWII. There is extensive literature about that and about how Ralph Bagnold, founder of the LRDG, used cel-nav when exploring the Libyan desert before WWII.
I used cel-nav to keep track of the progress of our group as we explored the Libyan desert some ten years or so ago. An account of that can be found at:
