    This is on topic because cell phones can also double as a GPS and or sight reduction computor. Many nautical apps available. So not giving the cell phone to Davy Jones is prudent. A swivel clip on an extendable coil lanyard (like the deadman switch clip for outboard motors) would be light and practical. This also would help prevent damage by dropping.

    Hi folks.I realize not really cel nav related but it has come to my attention that just about all cell phone users,including myself, do not have their devices attached to a secure part of their body. One of my ideas is to have the ear bud chord,or lanyard attached to a belt loop,fanny pack,back pack,wrist case,etc. Just my 2 cents,would appreciate any feedback,thanks much.
