Out of 29 Sextants (not to mention octants)…..no plastic J
You asked earlier “Is it my imagination, or do I remember a sextant with legs on the opposite side as the handle?” You are probably thinking of the sounding sextants from the sixties – I have one by Kelvin Hughes like that (very handy for picking up, putting down on a regular basis as would be done when surveying).
