I have used an app called Tickoprint to adust the rate of my stopwatch. The developer says you should use an external microphone, but I just removed the back of the case and positioned the phone's mic right next to the pallet fork. I made sure to do this in as quiet a setting as I could arrange and let it run for a long time. It probably helped that the stopwatch has a relatively loud "tick". The displayed rate on the app is usually all over the place for the first few minutes and it seems the app needs some time to "settle down" before it starts producing stable output. The rate is displayed as a continuously updating graph. The app seemed to work really well, but I'm not a watchmaker/repairman, so...
Anyway, I think there's a free version and a "premium" version that you have to pay for. The version I have has the following 15 options for bph (beats per hour):
- Auto
- 3600
- 4800
- 5400
- 7200
- 10800
- 12600
- 14400
- 16200
- 18000
- 19800
- 21600
- 25200
- 28800
- 36000
IOW, a range from one beat per second to ten beats per second. My stopwatch beats ten times per second. Which makes sense, since the seconds are divided into tenths on the face. IIRC, I've gotten the rate down to around +2 seconds/day.
Cheers!
