Hello, long time without participating in the list, and lots of activity, great!
I have developed some utilities that export in GPX format a file about coastal and celestial navigation, sailings, SAR...
For "Circles of Equal Altitude"
- On a world map, Coastal WVS - Astronavigation.exe
- On a nautical chart. Two ways generating a .gpx file to import it in Google Earth or OpenCPN
- Astronavigation.exe [GPX] http://opencpn.org/ocpn/node/143 Full automatic solution
- ChartWork.exe http://opencpn.org/ocpn/node/133 manual solution
Resources:
- In my Web site, in section [Software download] [Windows], you can get the "Programs overview" and the programs.
- in section [Papers] is available an explanation about the method used: "Use of rotation matrices to plot a circle of equal altitude"
- See the Celestial Navigation Example. Available in your installation directory Chart Work\Tutorial\Celestial Navigation\CD Example, or in the link at [What is New?]
best regards.
