Further my last: Have just read Al’s spreadsheet explanation. If the Air Almanac does indeed give sunrise at upper limb just breaking the horizon, the Sun is climbing at 8’ per minute at sunrise at this latitude and time of year, so the time taken to climb 48’ of arc is indeed six minutes of time.
