    thenauticalalmanac method

GHA less than longitude is 173° 04' at 0630

    long - GHA  = 2° 1.2'

I have solved the problem. The example given by thenauticalalmanac was for west long. I am in east long so the equation becomes long + GHA.  Similarly the  sign in "My Method" needs to be chosen depending on whether long is east or west.
