    You definitely should read it, whether you buy your own copy or not. There are some errors, as George has said, and the chapter on lunar distances is really bad, but this book is a goldmine of useful info and pointers to further study. Even though it often sells for over $100 (USD), it's worth it. Besides, you can usually re-sell it for the same price or more if you decide to unload a copy! :-)

    Nope. He's gone. He was rather prolific in his navigational writings, back in the 1960s.
