Another clear night, even though it meant checking at 3AM, 5AM, and 6.30AM just to make sure.  I managed to nail it between 6.45 and 7.00.  Jupiter got very bright as it rose above the haze and Mars was still visible.  The x10 Russian binoculars were difficult to hold steady, but I was soon able to spot Zubenelgenubi.  Eventually I got both eyepieces synchronised, and thought I might have seen Alpha One at about 1.00 to Alpha Two, and about 1/20^th of the distance between Alpha Two and Jupiter away.  ‘Navigator’ put Jupiter 63.4 arc minutes above Zuben’ubi, so the distance between the two Alpha stars must have been just over thee arc minutes, which comes close to the 2.7 arc minutes I calculated from the RA and Dec figures in Wikipedia.  

I might also have seen a moon of Jupiter, but I’m not sure about that.  It was about 1/10 of the distance between Jupiter and Zuben’ubi  away from Jupiter.  My right eye only put it at 9.00 o’clock to Jupiter and my left eye only put it at 11.00 o’clock, so maybe it was just a trick of the binocular prisms.
