Years ago, my fiancé gave me her father's Warner Plotter. He was a pilot and aircraft mechanic. I just 're-discovered' it. It has instructions for figuring out drift problems without actually drawing the vector diagrams, as well as other techniques easily adapted to sailing. See attached images. I'm sure I'll find a million other uses for it as well.
I have asked for a T-plotter and another volume of Pub. 229 for Christmas and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get them. (I hope they're the version/volume I asked for. Asking for CelNav gifts is hard because my family has no idea what they are looking at :) ) So my collection continues to grow. Next on the list is a metal sextant. I'll be saving for a while for that one, though.
Oh, and Frank: Let me know when you get the T-shirts printed up! ;)
