In 2013, in a word play on "running fix", I coined the term "walking fix" for an immediate correction to the dead reckoning based on a single LOP. My investigation predicted better accuracy than the running fix if the DR errors were purely random. But that advantage was reduced or even reversed by a systematic error (e.g., a uncorrected current) superimposed on the random error. It depended on the magnitude of the systematic component. http://fer3.com/arc/m2.aspx/Running-fix-Monte-Carlo-analysis-Hirose-oct-2013-g25273 http://fer3.com/arc/m2.aspx/Running-fix-Monte-Carlo-analysis-Hirose-oct-2013-g25406
