Dear list members,
A friend of mine approached me about a gadget by the name of 'cruiser fix'.
Presumably it was an instrument for desert navigation during WW II. It was
of circular form, made of carton or something like it, like a circular
slide rule or a star finder. We think it made use of the position of the
sun in the sky and it probably needs date and time as input. I have the
following questions:
1. Do you know this instrument?
2. Is there a good description of the instrument?
3. Do you know if the instrument itself can be obtained somewhere?
4. Or maybe are there images of it so that we can reconstruct one?
Thanks in advance for any reactions,
_Steven.
