Around five to ten years ago, Poljot marine chronometers were selling at US$950 or there abouts - much the same as you state for deck watches today. And they were pretty good chronometers!. The same chronometers today have gone up to around US$1250, but brand new marine chronometers under a thousand dollars never was a realistic price.I would be interested to hear what you paid for a chronometer (I assume it was a Poljot) five years ago.
