I recently acquired a Type 1 Curta for my mechanical and analog computing collection and transcribed the introductory manual to make it more easily searchable. https://trmm.net/curta/
The device can perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with eight significant figures, powered by a handcrank that makes it look like a small coffee grinder. I probably won't take it with my on sailing voyages since it is such a delicate piece of clockwork, but it is fun to imagine how it could help with some of the steps in position fixes.
