Attached are my current prefered on the go light weight sextant box set of sight reduction tables . The base table is a 53 page paperback reprint of Martelli tables. Tucked into the front inside dust jacket are:
Natural haversines 1', Ageton Classic (Combined Ageton and natural sin cos tables), Pub 249 table 4 long term Sun almanac, Arc to time, Ix azimuth graph. Tucked in the back dust jacket is the much more useful local hour angle Martelli table 5. The front of the dust jacket is full of shorthand formulae and an ex-meridian table. Pretty ugly to look at but dont judge a table by it's cover. What I get out of this are 9 different non-electronic ways to perform sight reduction.
1. Law of Cos by Logs
2. Hav Doniol
3.Ageton
4. Law of Cos by Otis King slide rule
5.Ex-meridian by pocket slide rule
6.Time Sight
7. Sumner LOP
8. Longitude by Equal Altitude
9. LAN
