    Looks like using my Bendix MK 5 bubble octant for 20 minutes of observations will double my daily back ground radiation exposure. Not too worried about CN observation exposure but tearing into older instruments that contain radium is probably not healthy :(  I am guilty of having done this and no longer take apart bubble octants or old watches/clocks.
