Welcome aboard Abel. See this post from the archive to date the Hughes sextant. The number you have given seems to have an extra digit. Compare seriel number on sextant arc to listing:

Good night mates! I'm going to introduce myself, my name is Abel and I'm writing from Spain. I have a little experience with ships and navigation ( naval archited and second mate). One of my hobbies is celestial navigation and other methods of traditional positions. I bought my first sextant when I achieved my first salary as a third officer ( a Chinese copy of ASTRA III). Now I am working onshore as a Ship Manager in a repair yard, and as soon as I have time, always try to practise with celestial bodies, heights and other exercises using my sail boat.

Last Spring, one more unit has been added to my particular collection, coming from an auction in a smal country in the south of France. Please, updated your list of references from Sextants made by Husun and sons before IIWW.

My sextant has a reference of: 235666 and was checked on  13/07/1940.

now it runs perfectly, it has been cleaned, greased and polished properly, and sometimes it is used to calibrate other old instruments included in my particular collection. I have no doubt, English manufacture is quality manufacture over the pass of the years.....
