My archive shows a thread that began Feb 13, 2004.? It had to do with the ship carrying a large telescope to observe Jupiter's moons.? O'Brian did not really get trashed, however.
I think Patrick O'Brian is an excellent author, and quite close to historical fact virtually all the time.? He did an enormous amount of research to ensure the same.
Fred Hubard: could you expound on why you think O'Brian deserves trashing?
