Nice. It might be suitable for the Mark 3 as well, provided the existing fixed sight tube is removed/replaced and a separate mount made to support the shades. 3D printing would be a good match for both pieces. One could argue whether the Mark 3's inherent accuracy would support any magnification, let alone 8x, but I think it might with careful use.

I wanted a a bit more magnification for my Davis Mk25 so I fitted a cheap 8x20 prismatic monocular.
