I'm not sure about the Astras and tariffs but can tell you that Celestaire was still selling them at the annapolis sailboat show a couple of months ago for the same prices they always do...

I thought maybe it was something unusual. I'm supposing now the price made me imagine it must be "significant". Now that you've set me straight, I can see it's junk. Lesson learned.
Thanks for that link to the Hughes sextant. I will consider it!
Does anyone know what's happening with Astra sextants in the USA? I think they're made in China. Will they be tariffed away? Will Celestair still sell those??
