I have been unsuccessful seeing venus in daylight with the naked eye. I am using the sirius method with a carport roof for vertical reference and a hanging pot plant for horizontal reference. Today I had an additional vertical reference - the moon.
At 2129 UT:
venus 360° 63°
moon 285° 58°
I need to hold my hand on my face to shield my eyes from the sun. I cannot remember anyone reporting the relative position of the sun. I wonder if my problem is that venus is too close to the sun?
