Hello!
I made an example calculation of that two-pass approach - and it proved to be extremely fragile regarding the choice of bodies and the length of the time interval between the sights.
At first formulas work OK, but the step obtaining the LHA breaks easily - most often the cos-1 has to deal with a value greater than 1.00
That's pity because the idea of being able to fix the position after I was abducted by some aliens entertains me a lot! :)
But I'll try thinking and investigating on the topic more.
