Thanks for reporting on this little experiment :). You may be entertained to see how it looks on this end. Your email app dutifully copied in the text of the message, italicized as normal for quoting in email apps, and preserved the plain Aries and the emoji Aries even though you couldn't see them! Screen cap below.
