In my emailed version, Kermit's degree-sign now comes across loud and clear just as it should. What's more I can now see that the accent over the e in his surname is not a grave, as I had surmised, but a circonflexe. Whatever that may do to the way that you say it. I see only a ? (question mark). And in his sig the name is spelled "Cou?tte" (a ? symbol between "Cou" and "tte"." ******* Well, again things look a bit more complicated in the sense that they are not "systematic", ... as an example, in my post [NavList #13895]: all characters correctly on the web (at least for me on 2 different Web Browsers MSIE and OPERA) : just look at the bottom part of this post under the PART TWO header (lower half of PART TWO) where both the degree symbol and my name show correctly, while ... as an other example, in my subsequent post [NavList #13974], both the degree symbol and the spelling of my name fail to show correctly ... Why ? Full mystery ... Just for the fun of it, I am again entering a "degree" character now. Here it is on its own following line : ° Before submitting this current post, I can currently read it as a degree cheracter sign in my window. How will it show when available for public display ? Still a mystery to me : 50% chances ity will show as a true degree sign, and 50% chances it will show as a question mark in a smal dark diamond shaped window. Same for the spelling of my Last name, I just have to wait until I can see how it has turned out ... Meanwhile, thank you again for your "kind and peaceful" :-) comments, and Best Regards Kermit Antoine M.
