Yes, this claim that he could find his position to 200m using a theodolite. I remember Jimmy Patch, an ex LRDG navigator who was a contributor to this list many years ago claiming 300m. Do we believe that...? What is the error budget for a theodolite sighting?
I remember taking the GPS position of "Gravel Cairn" and it was some 6' away from the LRDG recorded position of that site.
