See my home made conversion for an azimuth compass. I first used microscope slides like Greg. Fine for sun reflection, but I wanted Az moon and stars for my patent "quick method" of lunar clearance using the Bygrave (details on request).
The ladies make up mirror was requisitioned for this important naval service in the time honoured British way ("borrowed", permanently from my wife's hand bag!).
So far only tested in the garden.I get 1-2° accuracy. Still to test on bouncing boat.
